Over the past several months, fans attending concerts heard the latest and greatest news. New material.
The band has written new material ranging from the bluesy "I never think about you" and "Plan B" to "I ain't perfect, but I'm perfect for you" which fits the style they are known for. They have even played another song by Mike Duke (who wrote "Doing it all for my baby" and "Hope you love me like you say you do") called "Let her go and start over".
"I never think about you" tells of how a guy is getting over a relationship, but is in denial. After all, if he never thinks about her, why would he talk about her so much?
"Plan B" is a fun song in which most of the band gets to do solos. Although the song is long, it doesn't seem that way because the solos make each part of the song very different.
The band has been playing "I ain't perfect, but I'm perfect for you" for over a year now. The song should be easy to figure out based only on the title. It is one of the songs more likely to be released as a single.
As mentioned above, "Let her go and start over" was written by Mike Duke and that influence shows. The song uses acoustic guitars, which the band does not always bring with them, but one can quickly tell it would be another likely single.
These songs are complete, but have not yet been recorded. The band plans
to get into the studio soon, where they'll record those songs, and tighten
down several more songs which they already have ideas for. A few more
are needed to reach the band's goal of 14. Hopefully, the album will be
complete at the end of this spring. Unfortunately since the music production
business is complicated fans might have to wait several months longer
than that.
