Huey Lewis & the News Deliver

Atlantic City, NJ; Trump Plaza; March 6, 1999 - It was a dark and stormy night outside, but inside the Trump Plaza Theater, everything was heating up! A very diverse crowd eagerly anticipated HLN taking the stage. They were not disappointed as the drums began to drive the beat and the curtain rose. Chris, Sean, Johnny, Bill and John were in place, accompanied by the famed horn section, as Huey appeared in his suave, mustard- colored suit.
HLN classic rock and roll was performed with the customary intensity, as well as the new additions, "My Other Woman's Got Another Man", "Plan B", and "We're Not Here for a Long Time, But We're Here for a Good Time." These seasoned musicians delighted old and new fans alike. Huey kept the crowd "with him" by chatting between songs and "rocking" on the front tables as the band delivered a first-class HLN production.
It is a pleasure to watch these friends of over 21 years put their hearts and souls into each show. Each band member brings his unique personality to the performance. Chris closes his eyes as he sings and plays lead guitar from his heart. Sean improvises and challenges "black Jack" as they switch from keyboard to keyboard. Johnny smiles, laughs and banters with Huey, while keeping the rhythm and changing instruments. Bill breathes hard, works hard and drives the band to pulsating rock and roll, as hard-driving bassist John Pierce challenges him. Huey uses every muscle in his body to sing from his soul. He smiles, squints and teases the audience, while delivering his distinctive vocals and harmonica solos.
Although the casino show was shorter than in other venues, the crowd rocked in appreciation and called for more! The fans showed that old and new friends would follow these old friends and their music for a long time and a good time.
