Danbury, Connecticut; Ives Concert Park; July 31, 1999 - An already hot night was made a bit hotter when Huey Lewis & the News came to town!! A very large crowd assembled at the Ives Concert Park to watch an amazing show. Huey and the Boys got the crowed rockin' with their show opener "So Little Kindness." The band then followed with "My Other Woman's Got Another Man," "Heart & Soul," "If This Is It," and the crowd pleasing "Power of Love."
Huey slowed things down a bit with two a capella tunes. "60 Minute Man" had all the ladies in the audience screaming. It was then followed by "Little Bit of Soap." Next, it was back to the rockin' tunes with "Heart of Rock & Roll" (with Danbury thrown in there for good measure). After that came "Walking on a Thin Line," to which the crowd received a special treat; Chris Berman (ESPN's football guru) was in the audience and came up on stage and sang along with Huey & the Boys. Needless to say the crowd "went wild"!! Next came "TOO" Hip to be Square," "Let Her Go and Start Over," and the ever popular crowd favorites "But It's Alright" and "I Want A New Drug."
The group closed with "Not Here for A Long Time, but Here for a Good Time" with which the crowd agreed whole-heartedly. Everyone had a GREAT time and was begging for more, which Huey obliged. The encore included "Plan B" with solos by Huey's backup musicians, and a song that Huey dedicated to all the working people who keep coming to see his shows- "Working for a Living."
