House Of Huey Lewis and The News

House Of Blues; Orlando, Florida; April 7, 2000 - On a cool Orlando evening, nothing could be better than spending it with HLN. With such a small venue as The House Of Blues, the room felt like more of a reunion or party than just a concert. The guys came out blazin' with "Some Kind Of Wonderful" and never let go of the crowds attention from then on. We heard all of the new material like "Plan B" (Rob Sudduth played a great solo!) and "We're Not Here For A Long Time..." Plus great versions of all their classics. You could hear a chorus of voices from the crowd with each hit, "I Want a New Drug," "Doing It All For My Baby," and "Heart Of Rock And Roll."

The night felt different without Chris Hayes, but with the rest of the band on top of their game, nothing could bring me down from my natural high. Huey sounded great, plus Sean and Johnny gave smooth vocal solos in "A Little Bit Of Soap." Each member of the audience walked away from the concert with a smile that won't fade for a very long time.

Many fans are anticipating the release of the movie "Duets" and also the release of the band's new album, which they hope will be coming out soon.

As the night drew to a close, one fan stated, "their music has filled my life with inspiration and joy and I'm counting the days till I get to see this great band again...."
