Heating up Connecticut

Oakdale Theater, Wallingford, CT - 3 August 2001 - It was another hot and steamy night and that is not just describing the weather. Huey and the News were steaming up the Oakdale Theater for an almost capacity crowd! (Only a few seats empty at the very end corner of the balcony.) Not even a very good folk singer, Joe D'Urso, could cool the crowd's anticipation. As soon as the intro music started, people were up and cheering.

The band started out with some of the new tunes, "We're Not Here for a Long Time" and "My Other Woman." These were followed by the standard songs: "Heart of Rock and Roll," "Doing it all for My Baby" and "The Power of Love." The guys played "Plan B" after Huey did a practice session with the audience on their part of the song (which there were a few eager beavers who joined in ahead of the rest of the crowd!). "Rhythm Ranch," "If This is it," "Too Hip to be Square" were followed with the two acapella favorites "Naturally" and "60 Minute Man."

"Let Her Go and Start Over" was played next. As Huey yelled for everyone to get up and dance, they played "Heart and Soul," "But its Alright", and ended with "I Want a New Drug".

The crowd was roaring and everyone was on their feet yelling "Huey, Huey, Huey!"

For the first encore they sang the new arrangement of "Do You Believe In Love," and "Working for a Living." During the second encore, the band played "I Ain't Perfect" (after Huey sang the words "I ain't perfect" a woman was heard to have yelled out "You're perfect for me!"), "Stuck With You" and last but certainly not least "Back In Time." Once again the guys gave the crowd the best concert ever!
