Vienna, VA & Baltimore, MD, 17 & 21 August 2003 - Perhaps in response to some criticsm of his Bowery Ballroom solo, Bill Gibson (pictured here from a show last year) has put an extra effort into his solos since that date.

These solos, coming at the end of "Plan B" and usually seguing into the next song, have drawn unanimous rave reviews and in many cases brought the crowd to its feet.

Many other band members have been performing outstanding solos during this stretch of the 2003 tour. As usual, Rob, Ron, and Marvin have impressed with their "Plan B" solos as well. But several fans have also complimented Stef Burns on his "Jacobs Ladder" guitar solo. Huey has also performed a harmonica solo before "Workin' for a Living" as he often does.

The band hadn't been to Baltimore in several years, which may be one reason the crowd in Baltimore seemed to have much more energy and stood for all but two or three songs. In fact, Huey jokingly implored the crowd to have a seat at one point by claiming, "I couldn't [stand for all these songs] because of my back."

The Baltimore show also had the crowd very close to the stage. Huey was seen giving high-5s and one lucky lady gave him a kiss during the show. Huey even almost missed his cue to start a song while autographing an album for someone.
