'Twas good...

I think the later show might have been the better deal, since it started at 10 and didn't get done until well after midnight.  You couldn't tell that these people hadn't played together in ages, or that these songs might have been unfamiliar - it all seemed pretty tight.  (Of course, they'd had the earlier show to practice...)  They first tore through the songs of My Aim is True in sequence and as they'd been recorded (read: very fast...) and then played some other old Elvis compositions.  (The rule of the night was that nothing written after 1977 could be played.)  They also played an Alex Call song that had been recorded on Clover's 49er album and closed with a fast, loud, and angry "What's So Funny About Peace Love and Understanding" that I think destroyed my hearing... undecided

Cameras were banned, but I eventually I whipped out my Treo anyway.  Unfortunately my Treo's camera sucks...

I had a great spot right up front (well, except for it being right next to an over-powered and extremely shrill speaker...) where I could see everything, but it was hard to document the "Cloverness" of the evening because everyone was so spread out.  And Elvis Costello kept obscuring my view of John McFee...  So these are the best I could do.

Sean looked like he was having a great time, and I think this is my favorite picture where I kind of capture it.  That's him with Austin de Lone.
