It's not far off 2 years since the band gave us the "Your Love...." demo and so I'd like to politely request another gift.

Generosity has been flowing with the addition of older tunes to setlists.  Plus, there's a new album patiently waiting in a can somewhere.  Therefore, the time is right to build on that momentum and send us an old unheard demo.

What better way to make use of the break in touring and travel???

Well-spoken!

To completely open Pandora's box: how about a gift for Christmas, a 4CD-Box with all the great demos you guys keep in your rehearsal garage? grin

I'd like one of those nice box sets like I've seen other acts release, containing all the singles and B-sides, with a bonus disc of rarities, demos, etc.

2010 would have been perfect for something like that, as it's the 30th(!) anniversary of their debut album.

just curious, out of all the hardcores who listens to Your Love Is Killing Me a lot? I've got the thing on my ipod and it gets quite a bit of play. Great tune and it helps that the demo is pretty tight. I wonder would the band ever consider a proper studio version for a future album. Did Bill or anyone ever mention why this song was scrapped from Plan B? its one of the best from that era and is a great showcase for Huey's harp playing.

Great Quote.  Fully agree.  My brother is a Hall and Oates fan and they did this:

"FIRST COMPREHENSIVE DELUXE BOX SET ON PHILLY DUO – 4 CDs SPAN 1966-2009 – 74 TRACKS INCLUDING HITS, ALBUM TRACKS, LIVE TRACKS, RARITIES & 2009 REMIX; FEATURES 16 PREVIOUSLY UNRELEASED TRACKS"

So for HLN something that includes Exodisco, Running with the Crowd, and They all come to Suzie (I have these on cassette thanks to DP!) and live version of Whole lotta lovin/Back in Town.  I could go on and on I'm sure.  The Hall and Oates boxset had the option of an autographed set too, but would you want just Huey's or all the band?  And would you want the past and present members to sign too?  Too many questions for me to answer, but yes a boxset is something HLN should do.

I recall someone here once saying (or pointing to an interview online somewhere) where Huey said he brought up the idea of a music video collection once, but the label showed no interest. huh huh huh

Music video has a very low return on investment for the most part, so labels don't release them in very great numbers anymore.

Oh...i don't know...CAPITOL/EMI AMERICA posted several HLN videos on you tube and based
on that response, they released "Greatest Hits & Videos".

The more hits they get, the more product goes out based upon that demand..so, got to:

http://www.youtube.com/user/emiamericarecords#p/a and search for: Huey Lewis and The News

The more hits, the more product...you can also help by using google to search for HLN videos.

It worked for the re-release of many artists work..it's modern day Marketing.
