Man, I suck.

Remember when I was complaining that if the new DVD was a dual disc it was going to bust my CD/DVD-carrying paradigm?  I'd gotten it all worked out: all the DVDs I liked to watch were in one CD carrier, and all the CDs in another.  So I didn't know where I was going to file it if Live at 25 was all on one disc.

But then the band, nice guys that they are, helped me out by coming out with two separate discs.  So leave it to me to ruin everything by losing the CD carrier.  With all the CDs in it.  Dammit.  Great swathes of my HLN collection are now missing, as well as everything by Alex Call, Bonnie Hayes, Bruce Hornsby, Paul Thorn and various other artists I'm too embarrassed to mention but I enjoyed listening to nonetheless.  Enya and Abba come to mind, but you didn't hear that from me.

What *really* sucks about the situation is that I have a 3000+ mile drive ahead of me and not a very deep selection to keep me company.  Thankfully the CD carrier disappeared BEFORE the new CD was purchased, so at least I have that.  And Small World, which I apparently had two of.

Of course, it might all be moot because I don't have a CD player in my car anyway.  But I would have aspired to get one!  If only I, like, had some CDs to play in it.

I do still have various cassettes (well, not Plan B because I wore it out).  But this may not be a reliable alternative because the tape deck has been eating most of the tapes I've fed to it lately.  I might chance it though anyway.  Perhaps with the "How to Speak German" collection my sister just bought me.  In a week I should be fluent.  Or insane.  Whichever.

Anyway, this is a completley gratuitous post, but I wanted you all to feel my pain.  And I'm hoping that once I post so publicly about my CD carrier it will be induced to show up, just to make a fool out of me.  Hopefully in the next 10 minutes.

Harem Scarem - OVER:LOAD - Been playing the bloody hell out of this disc since getting it last week. In fact I'll be bold and say that its because of this album that Live @ 25 hasn't been in my player that much... This band never puts out the same studio album twice and this time around they mixed in baritone guitars and put out a agressive heavy rock album... If you haven't heard of these guys check out - www.haremscarem.net and listen to 1 minute audio samples from the album and you'll see why I highly recommend these guys... phonoline might be interested in hearing the sample mp3 of the AC/DC cover they did of You Shook Me All Night Long for the Japanese version of OVER:LOAD Worth checking out!!... If you like good guitar driven rock these guys deliver!...

Huey Lewis and the News - Live @ 25 - Above average live album the more I listen to it the better I like it... Captures the guys perfectly live... Everyone wanted a live album and the guys delivered!...

SR-71 - Tomorrow - A dash of punk a tad melodic with some good guitars and a singer who sounds like a young Vince Neil... One of my favorite recent bands that I've discovered.

Theory Of A Deadman - Another band recently discovered but was recommend to me... Good music better then most bands out there in the mainstream now of  days...

Def Leppard - Rock Of Ages: Definitive Collection - Seems like all these 80s rockers are putting out 2 disc retrospectives and I'm glad Leppard did this too because really a 2 disc set is better then the previous 1 disc Vault.

I'm sure this list will change I'm always listening to something else different daily...

All the best...

That's ok Jere...I always like hearing what other HLN fans are listening to.

I've got Rick Springfield's "Karma" in my cd player.  After seeing him this past weekend, I got all crazy and ordered all the cd's I didn't have.. now I have a huge RS collection.

Also listening to "Live @ 25".

And Calexico

And Green Day's "American Idiot"... thanks Dani!

Got a long drive ahead next week so I have all my faves in my case to listen to.  Also have my trusty iPod :)  Dani has her portable DVD player so we've got it all covered

Huey Lewis and The News - Picture This
Huey Lewis and The News - Hard At Play
Richard Pryor - The Anthology (2 disc set)
Glen Frey - No Fun Aloud
The Storm

I actually thought it'd be neat if the new HLN album was a DUAL DISC.  Hope you find your case(s), Calgrad.

The Storm

That wouldn't be the 1991 debut album from the group The Storm with Gregg Rolie and Kevin Chalfant... The closest band to come together and sound almost like Journey thats not actually Journey although featured several members??? Just curious... Maybe there is another group out there called The Storm but thats the only one I know... if so killer album... if not then well worth finding their 2 out of print albums...

All the best...

You guys should check out a band called Ingram Hill. They have a new CD out called June's Picture Show. I LOVE it! It gets almost as much CD play-time as HLN. As far as what's NOT in my CD player. ummmm....ABBA?

Yes it is the debut Storm album.  Don't forget Steve Smith and Ross Valroy, after being fired from Journey.  Josh Ramos is on guitar and better than Neil Schon in my opinion.  We use it during setup because 'In The Raw' has such an awesome range of highs, mids, and lows.
